Mourning Weeds — Cunnington & Sanderson at Milan Fashion Week

Milan. A city that has defined fashion for generations. And for us, the place where Cunnington & Sanderson took to the Milan Fashion Week catwalk for the first time — with our 2009 collection, Mourning Weeds.

Mourning Weeds, our debut Milan Fashion Week runway show, was more than a collection — it was a statement. Described by Dazed as "Emotional Constructions", and presented with White Club, the show brought together zero-waste design, made-to-order craftsmanship, and a deeply personal exploration of how clothing holds emotion.

Dazed sat down with design duo Matthew Cunnington and John Sanderson to talk through the collection — the ideas behind it, the process, and what it means to bring a zero-waste vision to one of fashion's most storied stages. We are proud and humbled that Dazed chose to feature the work — a publication that has long championed fashion that means something.

Every piece shown was designed and made in the UK, with a sustainable focus including a zero-waste vision, made to order in the UK. That has always been our commitment, and Milan gave us the stage to say it louder.

Thank you to everyone who came, watched, and believed in what we are building.
